Feel “adult” with Japanese sweets from “Nihonbashi Nagato,” a long-established shop that has been in business since the Edo period.

The charm of the Yaesu, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi area is that you can find delicious food from both Japan and abroad, and you can choose a restaurant according to your purpose and mood. GOKINJYO, a community of women workers in this area, introduces their favorite dishes in this relay series.

Hello, I am Nikaido, a comedian in Yaesu Nihonbashi Kyobashi, in my second year at Yoshimoto Kogyo.

The other day I went to an all-you-can-eat barbeque restaurant and experienced stomach upset for the first time in my life.

I will be 30 next year. I feel my stomach getting older and I’m a little bit happy! I’m still growing up!

However, my stomach is feeling tired, so I went to “Nihonbashi Nagato” for some gentle sweetness.

All of them were so attractive that I was torn between them, but I bought the specialty “warabimochi” (bracken rice cake) and seasonal Japanese fresh confections “rangiku” (chrysanthemum) and “akikusa” (autumn grass).

They look cute, are just the right amount of sweetness, and are a perfect treat for myself. I eat it little by little with care. The sweetness of the soybean flour soaks into your body…

I bought it for myself this time, but I think I’ll try Nagato for souvenirs for my friends and loved ones from now on.

Isn’t it cool and mature to take Japanese sweets as a souvenir?
