A New Hotspot in Tokyo Station’s Yaesu District! “TOFROM YAESU TOWER,” Featuring Long-Established and Michelin-Starred Restaurants, Opens in September

2026.08.25

On Thursday, September 10, 2026, “TOFROM YAESU TOWER”—a hub featuring a variety of trendy restaurants and shops—will open at “TOFROM YAESU,” a large-scale mixed-use redevelopment project located right in front of Tokyo Station and connected to the Yaesu Underground Shopping Arcade. It’s a new hotspot at Tokyo Station that you’ll want to drop by not only for lunch or after work, but also for a casual outing on your days off.

Of particular note is “TOFROM YAESU Shop & Restaurant,” which brings together 68 restaurants and shops—ranging from long-established establishments with ties to Yaesu to popular Michelin-starred restaurants—all with roots in Tokyo. In this article, we’ll introduce some recommended spots and highlights.

Be sure to check it out for a fresh new way to enjoy Yaesu.

The first location is “Kappo Shimamura,” a long-established restaurant with a history of over 170 years that continues to preserve the traditional flavors passed down from the Edo period. This renowned restaurant, long beloved in Yaesu, has relocated and opened a new location. It has opened as a ground-floor street-level restaurant, offering a serene, purely Japanese-style space filled with the scent of wood.

For those working in the Tokyo Station area, this is a place to keep in mind for days when you want to enjoy a high-quality lunch or a slightly indulgent Japanese meal, as well as for business dinners and entertaining guests.

Next on my list of recommendations is “TaiKouRou Tokyo,” a long-established Chinese restaurant founded in 1949. “TaiKouRou,” a beloved institution in Yaesu for many years, has reopened with a fresh new look.

The specialty here is the “Jumbo Pan-Fried Dumplings,” which measure about 12 cm. These are the restaurant’s No. 1 best-selling item—the chewy, handmade wrappers are pan-fried to a fragrant crisp, and with just one bite, the juicy meat filling bursts into your mouth. They’re perfect for lunch, of course, but they’re also a great way to enjoy an evening with coworkers over a beer.

And for foodies, the “YAESU Tokyo-kai” specialty shop zone opening on the second floor is not to be missed. Twelve renowned shops have gathered here, creating a space that evokes the atmosphere of a Tokyo back alley, where you can savor the unique flavors of these specialty shops.

Be sure to check out “Ten Yokota Asu e,” the new branch of the Michelin one-star tempura restaurant “Ten Yokota,” and “Yaesu Issai Katsurai,” the new branch of “Daikanyama Issai Katsurai,” which has been listed in the Michelin Bib Gourmand. With several restaurants making their debut in a commercial complex, it’s also a delight to be able to enjoy the flavors of renowned establishments—previously known only to a select few—in a more accessible setting. It also seems like the perfect spot to enjoy a slightly special drink.

Directly connected to Tokyo Station and boasting excellent access, “TOFROM YAESU TOWER” is a new culinary hotspot in Yaesu that we’re already looking forward to when it opens in September. Why not stop by to experience its unique charm—where Tokyo’s “history” and “innovation” intersect, offering everything from time-honored flavors to the latest culinary trends?
