Popular voice actors and live music will take you to a fantastic “Heian world. Music reading play “Onmyoji” to be performed at a new theater in Yaesu in June.

Based on the popular “Onmyoji” series of novels by Baku Yumemakura. Set in the Heian period (794-1185), the story is about a genius Onmyoji, Abe no Seimei, and his partner, Minamoto no Hiromasa, who solve various mysterious incidents.

In this performance, in addition to the reading by popular voice actors, the story will be accompanied by live erhu and piano music. The audience will be drawn into the mysterious and beautiful “world of the Heian period” while listening to the emotional sounds, an immersive experience that is only possible in a musical reading performance. This is the perfect experience for those who want to get away from their daily routine for a moment and enjoy a fantastic time.

This performance has continued from the year before last and the year before last. This year, we will perform “Genzo to biwa oni no tame ni tsukurarukoto”, “Toad” and “Oni no michiyuki” from the first Onmyoji, and “Geshu-houshi” and “Dew to tote” from the second Onmyoji Hiten no maki.

It consists of five episodes, including one new episode, and is a full 90 minutes of enjoyment of the world of “Onmyoji”.

Also noteworthy is the fact that each performance will feature a different lineup of splendid voice actors.

On Saturday, June 20, Takahiro Sakurai will play the role of Seimei Abe and Satoshi Hino will play the role of Hiromasa Minamoto.

On Sunday, June 21, Takuatsu Terashima and Sogo Nakamura will perform at the 12:30 p.m. performance, and Wataru Hatano and Takuya Sato will perform at the 5:30 p.m. performance.

The venue is the Tokyo Tatemono Pia Theater, located in the new TOFROM YAESU TOWER complex completed in February 2026, a new theater that just pre-opened in May 2026 and is directly connected to Tokyo Station for easy access. It is recommended for a weekend outing or to see a play with friends.
