EVENT
Tokyo Art & Antiques 2025″ where you can experience and purchase art close at hand.
2025.04.11
The annual art event “Tokyo Art & Antiques 2025 – Nihonbashi/Kyobashi Art Festival” (“Tokyo Art & Antiques 2025”) will be held in Nihonbashi and Kyobashi for three days from April 24 (Thursday) to 26 (Saturday), 2025.
The Nihonbashi/Kyobashi area has been an art district since the postwar period, with approximately 150 specialty stores selling antiques, crafts, Japanese paintings, modern paintings, sculptures, prints, etc. The 15th “Tokyo Art & Antiques” is a community-based art event held annually during the three days before Golden Week. This year, 86 art stores, galleries, and one organization will participate in the event, offering visitors the opportunity to purchase a variety of genres of art, including vessels, antiques, and contemporary art for daily use.
Even art novices who usually feel that galleries and art galleries are too intimidating can easily wander around during this event and deepen their understanding of art through communication with store owners and artists.
Also this year, “ARTISTS TALK – Inheritance and Development of Arts and Crafts”, a talk event focusing on practical “learning” to enjoy art, was held on April 25 at TODA BUILDING. Sculptor Kazuki Miyake, potter Takefumi Suzuki, and ceramic artist Yuka Hisamatsu took the stage to explain the process and background of their work. The talks are scheduled to make viewing artworks at the gallery more enjoyable and accessible.
Other exhibitions will be held at galleries and art galleries during the period. Please check the official website before visiting the exhibition for details.
