The charm of the Yaesu, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi area is that you can find delicious food from both Japan and abroad, and you can choose a restaurant according to your purpose and mood. GOKINJYO, a community of women workers in this area, introduces their favorite dishes in this relay series.

Hello! I’m a comedian at Yaesu,Nihonbashi,Kyobashi. I’m Nikaido from Thailandruck, a comedian in my second year with Yoshimoto Kogyo.

It’s been about half a year since I became a comedian at Yaesu Nihonbashi Kyobashi.

I’ve made a lot of fun memories at YNK.

I ate my fill at a long-established eel restaurant, talked with the owner of a Michelin-starred restaurant, made script at a delicious cafe famous for its breakfast, visited a popular shrine for the first time in the new year, searched for souvenirs at a pastry shop, and drank too much at the Sakura Festival and lost my memory…

I thought I had seen many different looks of YNK! ! ! ! The Sannosai Festival surprised me! !

At noon, I met up with members of the YNK community “GOKINJYO” in front of Kyobashi Square Garden.

Even though the omikoshi(portable shrine) parade hasn’t started yet, there are so many people here that I’ve never seen before at YNK! People wearing happi coats and with their hair done up are marching through the town with great enthusiasm. So cool!

What’s more, Chuo-dori avenue is closed to traffic…

Is it really okay to close such a major street to traffic?!

This alone gets me excited. You can see that the entire city is concentrating on the Sannosai Festival.

Once the mikoshi started, the GOKINJYO members and I said, “What should we do… Shall we drink? Let’s drink!” and immediately started toasting.

There were some stores that were handing out free alcohol, so we drank for free.

As I was watching the Sannosai Festival while drinking along the roadside, I could occasionally see the person from the shop I went to with the GOKINJYO members in the center of the omikoshi. A person who is active in YNK is carrying the omikoshi.

I loved the YNK members supporting the omikoshi and the GOKINJYO members cheering them so much that I found I was getting wet. I had been drinking, so it can’t be helped.

The omikoshi passes through Chuo-dori Avenue and turns around at Nihonbashi.

We, the GOKINJYO members, follow the mikoshi to Nihonbashi.

Nihonbashi was so crowded with people that I wondered if it was safe for so many people on the bridge, and the atmosphere was so intense. For some reason, I felt proud when I saw a foreign tourist who happened to be there fascinated by the omikoshi.

The Sannosai Festival, which was an incredibly exciting event, was being held for the first time in six years after being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The next one will be held two years later. I definitely want to go again, and it was a festival that made me want to know more about YNK and the people at YNK.

We, the GOKINJYO members, went to the beer garden on the rooftop of Nihonbashi Takashimaya with the excitement of the Sannosai Festival still in our minds. The beer garden was amazing at this time of year when it was getting a little hot at the beginning of June…If I were to write about the beer garden, the number of characters would double, so I’ll stop here for now.
