The charm of the Yaesu/Nihonbashi/Kyobashi area is that you can choose the restaurant that best suits your purpose and mood, as well as the delicious foods from Japan and abroad. In this relay series, GOKINJYO, a community of women workers in this town, introduces their favorite menus.
Today, I want to treat myself to a hearty, one-of-a-kind lunch!
When you’re feeling a little indulgent like that, I highly recommend “Okushiba Shoten” at Tokyo Station.

This soup curry specialty restaurant, originally from Hokkaido, is located in the Yaesu area of Tokyo Station.
I ordered the soup curry, which was packed with plenty of vibrantly colored, lightly fried vegetables. What got me most excited this time was the large piece of chicken on the bone!
It’s a very satisfying dish where you can fully enjoy both the vegetables and the meat. Since the soup curry has a light, smooth consistency, it doesn’t feel too heavy even with all the ingredients, and the aroma of the spices makes it easy to keep eating.

What I especially enjoyed at Okushiba Shoten was being able to choose my own toppings.
Depending on my mood and how hungry I am, I can customize my dish with vegetables, meat, and other ingredients to my liking, so I really enjoy the time spent looking at the menu and thinking, “What should I add today?”
Since the flavor of soup curry can vary significantly depending on the base curry and the combination of ingredients, it seems like it would be fun to visit a few times to find your favorite combination.

This time, I also ordered a lassi to go with my meal.
The smooth and refreshing lassi pairs perfectly with the spicy curry. It’s also the perfect way to take a break after enjoying a hearty curry!

The area around Tokyo Station offers a wide variety of lunch options. At Okushiba Shoten, you can enjoy the fun of customizing your meal by combining ingredients and toppings to your liking.
