Enter a World of Beauty Spreading from the Back Alleys. Art Fair “Tokyo Art & Antiques 2026” to be held in the streets of Nihonbashi and Kyobashi
2026.04.02
From April 23 (Thu) to 25 (Sat), 2026, “Tokyo Art & Antiques 2026,” a city-walking art fair will be held in the Nihonbashi and Kyobashi areas.
Launched in 1998, this is the 16th time this fair has been held. For three days, visitors can enjoy a special experience unique to this area, which is dotted with many antique stores and galleries. During the fair, galleries that are usually difficult to enter will be located in the stores themselves. While walking the streets, visitors can enjoy not only the artworks, but also the architecture, the scenery of the alleyways, and even conversations with the store owners. Admission is free, so we recommend that you take your time to visit and savor each and every one of them.

The theme of this year’s event is “A town of art where history and culture come alive for those who are particular about their visit. 83 galleries and art stores are scheduled to participate, each of which will present their own unique exhibitions. Walk, look, and feel. The event offers a wide range of experiences for adults to encounter art with their own senses. The event is attractive to a wide range of visitors, from beginners to enthusiasts, and the open atmosphere allows visitors to drop in casually and have unexpected encounters with works of art.

One of the highlights is a new project focusing on “back alleys. Three routes with themes of “architecture,” “cultural figures,” and “retro” will allow visitors to rediscover the charms of the city from different perspectives than those of the main streets. While touring historical architecture and long-established museums, visitors will enter a profound world where space and artwork resonate with each other. By paying attention to details that are usually overlooked, visitors will be able to experience the time and stories that have been accumulated in this area.

Furthermore, a variety of programs are scheduled during the period, including a talk event by Naoki Prize-winning author Hitoko Sawada, a flower arrangement presentation by florist Shiho Yokogawa, and a charity bidding event. There will be a variety of opportunities for visitors to become more familiar with art.
A special time to encounter works of art in a town with a long history. Discover the new charms of Nihonbashi and Kyobashi at “Tokyo Art & Antiques 2026”.
