T3, one of the largest urban art festivals in Japan, a large-scale photography festival attracting 750,000 visitors, will be held again in 2025

T3, one of the largest urban art festivals in Japan, will be held in Yaesu, Nihonbashi, Kyobashi, and Ginza, Tokyo, from October 4 (Saturday) to October 27 (Monday), 2025.

T3, now in its seventh year, is a photography project consisting of three axes: the urban art festival “T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO,” the photography fair “T3 PHOTO ASIA,” and the nurturing project “T3 NEW TALENT.

 

A wide variety of programs will be held, including exhibits of works by international artists and talk shows, utilizing indoor facilities and outdoor open spaces. Last year’s event attracted 750,000 visitors, and this year’s event is expected to be even more exciting, with the area newly expanded to include Ginza.

T3 PHOTO FESTIVAL TOKYO provides a venue for artists to present and produce work internationally, and the theme for the 2025 festival is “Garden”. One of the exhibitions, “City as Garden,” will feature photographers Stephen Shore and Melissa Shriek, who will create a “garden” through photographic expression in an urban space.

The art fair “T3 PHOTO ASIA” was launched with the aim of reconsidering the cultural and creative potential of photography throughout Asia. This year, the fair welcomes Taiwan as a guest country, focusing on its rich photographic heritage and presence in the Asian creative community.

 

The Masters exhibition (October 11-13), featuring original vintage prints by photographers, will spotlight the work of Chinese artist Lan Jingshan, who is regarded as a pioneer in the Asian language of photography, with a focus on Taiwan.

Curator Kaho Ikeda will introduce five artists in a group exhibition organized by T3 NEW TALENT, a nurturing project that supports the global expansion of Japanese photographic culture.
