Group Exhibition “Sasameki Amaki Bansho no Mori” by Yoshitomo Nara at Yutaka Kikutake Gallery in TODA BUILDING
2024.12.02
At the “Yutaka Kikutake Gallery Kyobashi,” a gallery on the third floor of the TODA BUILDING, a skyscraper complex that opened this November, a group exhibition curated by Yoshitomo Nara, “Sasameki Amaki Bansho no Mori,” is being held from November 2 (Sat) to December 21 (Sat), 2024.
Since its opening in Roppongi in 2015, “Yutaka Kikutake Gallery” has held a variety of exhibitions, workshops, and publication projects. This inaugural exhibition will feature works by four artists that Nara met in Hokkaido, which he has visited repeatedly in recent years: Kineta Kunimatsu, Nanami Saito, Hokuto Watanabe, and Botan & Sumire.
These four artists have placed themselves in close proximity to nature and have made it the source of their imagination. They express the timeless nobility of the universal through their wood carvings and ceramics.
Mr. Nara will present drawings he made while staying in the town by Lake Toya this summer, which is one of the bases of his artwork production. The drawings, depicting the appearance of spirits living in nature, capture the imagination of visitors.
