The charm of the Yaesu, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi area is that you can find delicious food from both Japan and abroad, and you can choose a restaurant according to your purpose and mood. GOKINJYO, a community of women workers in this area, introduces their favorite dishes in this relay series.

On a hot July evening, we visited “Nihonbashi Ichi no ichi no ichi” on the banks of Nihonbashi. Many of you may be wondering about the terrace seating along the river.

Entering the entrance, you will find a chic Bar floor. Creative Japanese cuisine in this atmosphere, one can only hope.

First, a five-mouthful platter with a toast of beer. Each one is nicely arranged and seems to go well with the drinks!

We had refreshingly delicious sashimi, steamed egg custard, etc., and were surprised by the pickled gourd with shibazuke and orange as an accompaniment to the fish dish. The wagyu beef grilled in miso was very much to my liking, as the meat was moist and tender.

Then comes the sea bream in an earthenware pot! It was a nice touch to have the pot brought to your seat for you to see. The dish comes with dashi broth, making it twice as delicious. Finally, there was a cool sweet topping.

I was very satisfied with the creative Japanese cuisine served in a casual and nice space. I didn’t notice it in the semi-private room, but the hall was surprisingly lively with people who looked like businessmen from the neighborhood. Next time, I would like to have a quick drink on the terrace at sunset.
