I often come to Nihonbashi and the surrounding area for work because there are so many venues where rakugo performances are held.
Also, since many classic rakugo stories are set in this neighborhood, it holds a special place in my heart as a rakugo performer.

Tokyo has four permanent rakugo theaters where you can see performances 365 days a year, and in addition to those, rakugo shows of various sizes are held daily at a wide range of venues. Being able to enjoy rakugo so casually is something unique to Tokyo. Whether you’re sightseeing, shopping, or on your way home from work, please feel free to drop by and catch a show.
