As a treat after work or on your day off. “EN VEDETTE LUXE,” a hidden gem of a café in Tokyo Midtown Yaesu

I occasionally visit Tokyo Midtown Yaesu for work. I stopped by the café attached to the patisserie “EN VEDETTE LUXE” on the first floor.

Apparently, this is a new concept store run by “EN VEDETTE,” a popular patisserie in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa.Every time I walked past the shop, my eyes would be drawn to the beautiful cakes and gorgeous parfaits lined up in the display case, and I’d always thought, “I’d like to go there someday”—it had been on my mind for a while.

This time, since the work I’d been handling had come to a temporary conclusion, I visited on my day off to treat myself to some sweets.

I arrived around 2:00 p.m. Since it was tea time, I was prepared for a crowd, but there wasn’t much of a wait and I was able to get in right away. Since it’s tucked away a bit, it might actually be a hidden gem.

Although the interior is compact, its sophisticated design creates a calm atmosphere. It was very comfortable, and I was able to spend some relaxing time there.

The menu featured cakes, mille-feuilles, shaved ice, and other tempting items—I found myself at a loss for what to choose. This time, I ordered the “Parfait Fraise,” which is available only for dine-in and had been on my mind for a while.

The parfait is packed with plenty of small strawberries, giving it the classic look of a strawberry parfait. Its adorable appearance gets me excited the moment it’s brought to the table.

I chose black tea to drink. Since it’s served in a teapot, I was happy to be able to enjoy plenty of it. It was the perfect accompaniment to the parfait.

I heard there were several types of gelato to choose from for the parfait, so this time I went with vanilla. It had a rich flavor with a distinct vanilla bean note and paired perfectly with the strawberries.

The meringue was crisp and light, the whipped cream was fluffy and airy, and at the very bottom was a crumble with a crunchy texture.The textures and flavors changed with every bite, so I enjoyed it all the way to the very end without getting bored.

It looked quite elaborate, but it was surprisingly light, and I polished it off in no time. Yet it was still very satisfying—it was the perfect parfait for a “treat.”

Next time, I’d definitely like to try some of their other cakes and parfaits.

There was also a wide selection of baked goods and chocolates, so it seems like a great place to pick up a small gift.

This is a great spot to visit when you want to enjoy a special treat around Tokyo Station or treat yourself to some “me time.”
