The charm of the Yaesu-Nihonbashi/Kyobashi area is that you can choose the restaurant that best suits your purpose and mood, as well as the delicious foods from Japan and abroad. In this relay series, GOKINJYO, a community of women workers in this town, introduces their favorite menus.
Hi there! I’m Nikaido, a female stand-up comedian in my fourth year at Yoshimoto Kogyo, based in the Yaesu, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi areas!!
When you think of Nihonbashi, you think of its many long-established stores.
Eitaro Sohonpo, Yamamoto Nori Store, Ninben…! Anyway, there are so many shops that have been around for over 100 years!!
The “PEAK S PEAK CAFE” I’m introducing this time is, surprisingly, a café run by Yamamotoyama—one of Nihonbashi’s most iconic long-established businesses, a tea and nori shop founded in 1690.
Located on the first floor of the Takashimaya building, this café features high ceilings and a modern atmosphere—but I bet not many people realize right away that it’s run by Yamamotoyama, a company with a history of over 300 years!
Even Nikaido—a comedian who’s been in the Yaesu, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi areas for about three years—didn’t notice it right away!!
This time, I ordered the Whipped Matcha Pudding (680 yen / tax included) and a hot matcha latte (680 yen / tax included).

I heard that the matcha pudding uses matcha carefully selected by Yamamotoyama, and it’s incredibly rich!!
I love the firmer-textured puddings that are all the rage at traditional coffee shops these days, but as a member of the “Pastel” generation, Nikaido also loves smooth, creamy puddings.
This pudding is… wow!! It’s incredibly smooth!! I’m so grateful!!
Matcha goes really well with whipped cream, and the tartness of the dried fruit on top is just right! I’m so happy!!

It’s so delicious, I can’t help but grin!!
And what really surprised me was this matcha latte!!
The moment I took a sip, I just wanted to shout, “This is exactly what I’ve been craving!!”!! Would you please give Nikaido some credit for not actually shouting it?
Nikaido, actually, I’ve always preferred unsweetened matcha lattes. The matcha latte at “PEAK S PEAK CAFE” is exactly that!!
Since no sugar has been added, you can enjoy the true flavor of matcha. It’s way too good!!
It was so delicious that I had to send a message to my friend on LINE.

Plus, isn’t this package from Nihonbashi?!
I’m in Yaesu, Nihonbashi, and Kyobashi—as a comedian, this is a very welcome surprise.
It’s open from 6:30 a.m. on weekdays, and I hear you can enjoy breakfast there, too!!
Nikaido, who loves breakfast, has made up her mind: “I’m going back again!!”
