Shochu from All Over Japan Gathered! Japan’s Largest Shochu Drinking Festival to be Held at Tokyo Midtown Yaesu for the First Time!

2026.04.09

On April 25 (Sat.) and 26 (Sun.), 2026, Japan’s largest shochu event, “Shochu Fuestibal 2026,” selected by liquor stores, will be held at Tokyo Midtown Yaesu for the first time.

Under the theme of “Connecting the Dots to Shochu’s Future,” many people involved in shochu, including breweries and liquor stores from all over Japan, will gather. The two-day event is a great opportunity to enjoy the charms of authentic shochu.

Genuine shochu is one of Japan’s national alcoholic beverages. In addition to the standard styles of shochu on the rocks, with water, or hot water, there are also a variety of other styles, such as soda and cocktails, which have been gaining more attention in recent years, especially among the younger generation, as they have been featured in the media.

To further encourage the spread of shochu, 78 sake retailers and 74 breweries from Hokkaido to Okinawa have formed “Team Shochu” to gather together.

The participation fee includes a ticket that can be exchanged for sake, allowing you to taste unique shochu from different regions at once. In addition, additional tickets can be purchased on the spot on the day of the event. It is a great way to compare the brands you are interested in.

You can learn about brands that are usually hard to come across, or find a bottle recommended by a liquor store in Japan. This event is also a unique opportunity to enjoy listening to the brewer’s story.

This is an event that can be enjoyed by those who love to drink, as well as those who are not so familiar with shochu but are curious about it. The venue is directly connected to the station for easy access, so we recommend stopping by while shopping or having lunch.

This spring, compare shochu from all over Japan and find your favorite drink.
